Abstract:
This work was done as a part of the U. S. Public Health Service radiation surveillance study of wildlife ruminants in the Nevada Test Site environs. Occurrence, gross appearance, cause and significance for five spontaneous lesions of the desert bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis nelsoni) are reported. Lesions that are discussed include serous atrophy of pericardial fat, amyloidosis, pyometra, adhesive pleuritis, and hemangiosarcoma.
