Abstract:
For years the Lake Tahoe Basin has been one of the most controversial environmental issues in the entire United States. Avid conservationists are insisting that development be stopped and the environment be preserved in somewhat its natural state. Regulatory agencies, including the newly created bi-state Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, permit large corporations to continue development under their sanction at an ever increasing rate. This report is a detailed review of the water quality aspects of the environmental problem at Lake Tahoe.
