| A shorebird research program was conducted in California from 1968 to 1973. Studies included trapping and banding of shorebirds at selected sites ad a statewide censusing program, the California Shorebird Survey. Trapping methods were developed, and 10,207 shorebirds were banded and color marked. From one to four years of census data were collected at 57 sites by more than 200 observers, mostly volunteers. |
