Abstract:
There has been a significant reduction in the amount of riparian vegetation along the Sacramento River since settlement began in the 1840's. Unless large scale protective measures are implemented to protect the remaining vegetation, the banks of the Sacramento River will be converted into a barren environment with very little wildlife or aesthetic values remaining.
