Abstract:
The California desert pra1r1e falcon population sustained a 15 percent decline between 1972 and 1976. Several causes for this decline are discussed: campers, educational groups, falconers, off road vehicles, rock climbers and target shooters. Predictably, irresponsible individuals insure an accelerated decline in nesting prairie falcons. Progressive land use planning and its implementation are urgently required.
