Fire is a controversial issue in the Great Basin regarding whether it is beneficial or detrimental to wildlife habitat. Recognizing this controversy, the Nevada Chapter of The Wildlife Society (NC-TWS) developed a position statement regarding the influences of fire (wild and prescribed) on terrestrial wildlife habitat in the Great Basin. Both attributes and liabilities were assessed.
